About

BrianVeis (1)_edited.jpg

Shaped by a background in philosophy and mathematics, the artistic approach of Brian Veis is rooted in an axiomatic principle. Working within a limited framework of processes, formats, and compositional rules, he explores how these practices generate the final artworks—minimising overt artistic intentionality.

The works are created using acrylics, shellac, and boat varnish, applied in multiple transparent layers. Due to the artworks' quiet nature, the perception of each piece is highly sensitive to its context. As such, the final stages of completion often take place during the installation process, when multiple works are brought together in a shared space. Through their interplay of colour, light and rhythm, these constellations form an extended compositional field.
